It looks like it should be a beautiful day tomorrow to prepare the community garden beds and plant the first seeds and transplants. For those who volunteered to help, we will be starting at 9 am. Come when you can and stay as your schedule permits.
We would like to thank the Lexington Fayette Urban Government Council for helping fund the purchase of seeds, plants, and materials for the garden again this year. We would also like to thank Bill Farmer Jr. and Jessica Gies from the Fifth District for their continued support for the community garden efforts.
We will have coffee and donuts donated Donut Days, a local bakery that will be opening up a shop in Chevy Chase in the near future. Please check them out at: http://www.donutdaysbakery.com/
Stop by to visit the community garden throughout the year and pick up some vegetables on a Saturday morning or come to one of the monthly community suppers where the harvest is being served up. We can always use a little more help and we like it when people drive by and wave to cheer us on.
