The Kenwick Neighborhood Association has been working hard to improve our local neighborhood park. Based on your feedback, we are partnering with LFUCG to add more amenities -- swings, picnic tables, native plantings, and trees -- so more of the neighborhood can enjoy the park.
The Kenwick Neighborhood will be holding a meeting on Tuesday, June 22 from 7 to 8 pm to discuss upcoming changes to the Kenwick Community Park, answer questions, and discuss options for the next phase of additions. This meeting will be held in the park on the corner of Owsley and Menifee Avenues.
Beginning soon, the old basketball court will be replaced with a regulation half court, and the new surface will be located to free up space for future improvements.
To complete this first phase, we have already received a matching NAMP (Neighborhood Action Matching Program) grant from LFUCG that will provide some funding for these improvements. Our current goal is to raise another $5,000 to help pay for the new basketball court and prepare for the next phase--adding the new amenities.
Help us reach our goal! Donate $10 and get a sticker, $25 for a t- shirt, or $35 or over for both. Designs were created by Cricket Press! T-shirts and stickers will be delivered in August 2021.
