Kenwick is participates in the great American Cleanup each year between March and May. The date for the Cleanup will be announced in the spring.
During this event, the Kenwick Neighborhood Association invites volunteers to walk around the neighborhood to remove trash along our streets. You will be provided gloves and trash bags. Let’s all get together to help make our neighborhood beautiful! For more information, email email@example.com.
There are ways to dispose of unwanted items. If you have city garbage collection service, many items can be disposed of through regular collection. They even take up to 4 tires, off of the rim, on regular collection. For large items (like mattresses) call Lexcall 3-1-1 to schedule a special pickup. Electronics can be taken to the e-waste facility on Versailles Road and they always encourage residents to take items to Habitat’s Restore location or donate to Goodwill. Latex paint can be recycled through Habitat as well. Once a quarter there is a free disposal day at the transfer station on Old Frankfort Pike for any resident to dispose of a pick-up truck load of household waste.
