By all predictions, Lexington is forecasted to receive 8-10" of snow during the next few days. If you must be out on the roads traveling this weekend, Councilman Bill Farmer's office has provided us with maps (attached) showing which streets and roads are cleared first (ranked 1 through 4) so that you can better plan your route. Please travel safe and as always, keep an eye out for your neighbors.

One Saturday August 8th, the Kenwick Neighborhood Association and Victory Christian Church helped host a sign painting party that was suggested and planned by Jarah Jones. There was great turn out and kids made 40 signs to help remind drivers to slow down with the start of the 2015 school year.

We hope to see you there!
We had a record turnout of a dozen volunteers today including a lot of very helpful kids. We walked around the neighborhood and picked up trash for over an hour. The best news is that we did not have much to pick up. At lot has changed since we first started participating in the Cleanup efforts -- so thank you all for keeping our neighborhood beautiful!
Thank you to Ryan Koch and Seedleaf and all of our volunteers who helped prepared and plant the community garden beds last Saturday. We worked hard and had a lot of fun! The garden looks great already and we can't wait for it to grow and produce lots of fresh veggies and flowers.
We would also like to thank the Lexington Fayette Urban Government Council for helping fund the purchase of seeds, plants, and materials for the garden again this year. We would also like to thank Bill Farmer Jr. and Jessica Gies from the Fifth District for their continued support for the community garden efforts.
Thank you to Donut Days for providing the delicious donuts to keep us going in the morning. They will be opening up a shop in Chevy Chase in the near future. Please check them out at: http://www.donutdaysbakery.com/
Stop by to visit the community garden throughout the year and pick up some vegetables on a Saturday morning or come to one of the monthly community suppers where harvest is being served up. We can always use a little more help and we like it when people drive by and wave to cheer us on. If you are interested in helping, visit our website for more information: http://www.kenwick.org/neighborhood/community-garden
